Review procedure
The Journal of Asian Linguistic Anthropology adheres strictly to a double-blinded peer review process, respectively isolating reviewer and author identities.
Upon receiving a submission from authors, criteria are cross examined. Failure to meet these criteria results in either rejection of the submissions, or authors given an opportunity to revise according to stipulated criteria, and to then re-submit. Submissions then proceed to external reviewers.
We request that authors who submit articles provide the names of several academics who we may contact to review the manuscript. However, selection of reviewers is at the discretion of the editorial board. The recommended reviewers must be experts, or must be at least highly versed in the field related to the submission. Reviewers must be prepared to provide an objective assessment, must have absolutely no knowledge of the manuscript prior to submission, and must not have collaborated nor assisted in the production of the manuscript in any way.
